I am getting married abroad, and I have looked at wedding policies to cover the ceremony and reception abroad, as well as a reception back at home. This will cover the usual. Wedding attire of bridal party, rings, vendors cancelling/going bust etc
The issue I have, is that none of the polices would pay out in the event that I have missed the wedding due to travel issues. I assume because they think that is down to the travel insurance to pay out.
I am getting married in St Lucia, so limited flights. If my flight is cancelled then I would miss my own wedding. As my ceremony will be costing in the region of £5k, I don't want to chance it.
Is there a travel insurance that will incorporate some sort of cover for the wedding in the event that there is an issue with the travel arrangements? I suppose it doesn't need to be "wedding based" but that a delay or cancellation of the travel plans could mean that we would incur costs for a day we wouldn't get to have.
I hope that makes sense? Any advice you can give would be great.
