Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible
Hi, I am so glad I found this forum and cannot believe there are so many people who echo my sentiments about Orange, I have been a customer for over four years and before when it was Wanadoo and Freeserve had never a problem as soon as they switched to Orange then the problems began. I moved house over a year ago and since then over a year later have had internet connection problems since the broadband changed names to Orange. I have a Speedtouch connection and like many customers on this forum have phoned technical support so many times, at 50p a minute it took three minutes just to understand my name, they kept telling me to re-install the broadband disc and were very little help I have had line checks and everything, wrote several e-mails and letters. The problem I have is losing my connection for my speedtouch, every day I am getting cut off, sometimes if I am lucky I get an hour here and there, the problem is worse in the evening, I have a fiancee in Turkey and we are both apart I rely on my internet to talk to her on MSN,it becomes very frustrating to be cut off every few minutes when we are talking. I am unsure what to do I just want a reliable internet provider and someone who does not charge high technical support rates. Before I changed my package with Orange I was paying £22.99 a month for a package they told me had expired, without phoning them to change I would still be paying them this amount I was never informed. Can someone tell me why I keep losing my connection I have done all the line tests and re-installed the connection many times Thanks

The Orange network has all but collapsed but that was really to be expected. See orangeproblems.co.uk for more horror stories.

Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible
i signed up with orange because of their mobile and broadband deal.. the salesman assured me that i could just ring up and get the broadband as i told him that im stuck in a contract with my current broadband provider at the time. then when i phoned to get the broadband i was told that its a new contract and that both my phone and this broadbands contract would need to be extended to the full term. the next seven weeks were hell my broadband did not work they lie and lie their customer service is apauling.. i phoned them almost every day and did not get anywhere they blamed the previous broadband provider then blamed bt because of the line bt came out and could not find a problem. this is realy so frustrating to have to deal with orange it makes you feel powerless like you have no control over nothing. this after i kept telling them at the time that i cant be without internet and them assuring me time after time that there would be NO loss in connection at all apart from the few mins with swoping over from current Ip provider to them. After several complaint letters to them hours on the phone i phoned to get a mac code to be told that i need to pay a £40 cancellation fee. oh and they also ask me why i want to leave.. I told them the reason is because in 7 weeks i could not get my broadband to work with orange. im sure allot of you would understand the frustration.. listening to their music being on hold in a quee waiting to speak to someone who then hang up on you, lie, dont know what they are doing or cant be bothered to help and tell you to phone back. and when you do speak to managers they say they will phone you back and they dont. at one stage i threw my mobile phone so hard that it stopped working. this has truly affected my life ie my work my personal life, my sleep my everything. I have sinced written several letters to them asking to cancell the broadband and mobile contract as i obviously did not get what i signed up for. the fight continues - I dont know why big companies like this always get away with things like this. We should not allow them!!!

Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible
Under freeserve and wanadoo I experienced no internet connection problems whatsoever. Orange decided to speed my line up earlier this year, in reality they were actually migrating my connection onto their own system. For over nine hellish weeks I had no internet connection.
Their robotic staff, in both Britain and India drove me to tears. I was blatantly lied to repeatedly. I constantly would be put through to India for technical support, which for a technophobe was a nightmare.
In order to get through to the laughably named customer support, without hanging on for hours, I would set my alarm to phone at the crack of dawn.
After several line tests, migrating back to BT and a BT engineer visit I am now finally back on line.
If anyone tells me, my future is Orange, I am likely to bop them one!

Re: Wanadoo Orange are terrible
TOTALLY AGREE ORANGE THE FUTURE IS BLEAK
I too have had a shocking experience since moving home in january.
On a scale of 1 to 10 Oranges customer services is - (thats minus)1000 The inconsistant procedures and information from operators who talk in riddles, nothing can be sorted out through email, even if you do include all your account , address and telephone details along with your inside leg measurement , the standard reply to email is guess what, please call our customer support at the national rate. Or have you tried this a list of all the things to try on the web site which you did first to try and DIY before having to spend a fortune contacting them.
You will then be passed from piller to post. God for bid, if they owe you money, guess the only way you can get that back, "well sir just leave your direct debit open after your accounts closed we will put the money back in",
Hmmmmm and you wouldnt take another months rental out would you? I have a cheque book, a credit card and can even go to the post office and get a postal order, Is Orange to big to put a cheque in the post, paper money yes the real stuff could be posted too.
Orange the best I dont think so If anyone would like to persuade me otherwise please feel free to contact me and I will give you a complete history blow by blow account of the worst three months service I have ever had not from and ISP but any company I have dealt with in the last 25 Years can I make it any plainer than that.
The panel who voted Orange best isp must have been made up entirely of Orange Staff.

linford04: I moved to bt 9 months ago......................pure bliss now..................................
Here is the thing. Unless you shell out the reddies for a (for want of a better word) "proper" service provider, you will always have to put up with crummy service. BT although cost a significant amount more than orange's service YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
I have resigned myself to this fact being a complete skin-flint.
@queso: don't. Just don't.... we get it. you're a fan.
