    Re: Waiting for broadband

Still no broadband access. After waiting on  a queue for at least 20mins, an advisor suggested that I called the number again with another set of options - doing this, I was again in a queue.

Finnaly an advisor talked me through my moden settings - which were correct.

Tried connecting via USB modem settings - no success

Tried connecting via LAN modem settings - no success

Overall  I spent more than queuing/on hold  than talking to an advisor.

I believe my telephone line was still not activated for Broadband, so an e-mail was again sent (received email earlier stating that I had broadband activation), stating the problem - this was return with an undelivered error message.

I am only to believe that my activation will be laterthis month, and that the dates given, must only be a way of generating income by having to ring a premium number.

    Re: Waiting for broadband

Thursday 9th May - Still  no Broadband, so telephoned them this morning via all of the contact telephone numbers, until I got a response that could tell me exactly what the date was to be - only to be told around 19th May for the activation date ! This seems to confirms that when I rang the Sales line to cancel my ordered modem, they stated it was dispatched. So I will be returning a call asking for a RAN number in order to have it returned and have my £29.99 refunded.

It seems BT was to be contacted by TalkTalk, even though my Line rental had transfered 19th April 2007 - To be it seems you have to have the line rental active for one month before Broadband access ! Is this true. If so, then why was a date 6th May outlined ?

Will be sending a formal letter of complaint, requesting for some reimbushment for my wasted time, call charges to be refunded.

Now I only have to get my bill sorted.

How can a communications company  not commicate with it's customers. I appreciate delays can happen, but why not keep the customer informed !

    Re: Waiting for broadband

They have credited you ! To your Account or by Voucher/Cheque  ?

I too is going to ask for credit, due to my wait / non-help via Customer support.

Also - for overpayment of £1.00 (charhed £9.99 rather than £8.99)

In return I will be returning the ordered modem, for my £29.99 refund.

    Re: Waiting for broadband

Getting fed up with my dialup connection, I decided to join TalkTalk Broadband. I signed up 29th March, (upgrading from Talk 1 to to Talk 3 International), and Land/Call package transfered as detailed in letter/email received. I am still awaiting for my ordered modem (£29.99) and Broadband connection. I have had no details other than what was in the welcome pack about my Connection date (6th May), and the week commencing this date, telephoned & emailed TalkTalk on several occasions only to be told that Modem would be sent out prior to my connection date ! (What is this date ! I have asked for a confirmation of this date, and no-one has yet to response). I am still using my dialup service, and even suggested that calls made from this number should be credited. I am returning the modem back as soon as I receive it, as now I have been given one. I am also being charged the incorrect call package charge of £9.99 rather than the discouned £8.99 for first three months, and also my nectar points have earned have not been awarded since transferring to Talk 3 International. This when mentioned has also seemed to arrive with 'deaf ears' as my account has not been rectified.

    Re: Waiting for broadband

The modem has arrived & I've gone live at last. They've even credited me with £5 as they actually agree that I've been kept waiting so long. No problems with service so far (3rd day!).

    Re: Waiting for broadband

    Hi mate.
Look at the subject box "Talk Talk Problems" its in the ASK THE EXPERTS help forum. I started that off and it will tell you why i went back to BT / AOL. Even though AOL are now owned by Talk Talk its still a lot different and you get your services from AOL.
Mate, dont wait for your broadband. Get out now

    Re: Waiting for broadband

Still waiting! The ADSL excuse was not valid as I have lived here for 13 years. I have actually received my CD & password to go live on Feb 26th. When I asked where the modem was they said my go live date had been put back 48 hours. I would receive my modem in 7 to 10 days. When asked if they had posted the modem they said they don't post it till the go live date is definite! But, I said, I will go live in 48 hours! Reply: "Thank you for calling TT; is there anything else I can help you with?"

    Re: Waiting for broadband

Bazza:Seduced by adverts for 'free broadband' I duly signed up for Talk 3 international. Within 10 days my landline was connected - broadband connection promised 15 days later. 45 days later I am still waiting for my broadband connection. I have now spoken to 4 customer relations voices, and sent 3 emails. Every explanation I have been given is different. They are now telling me that my previous braodband provider won't give up the line. There has never been a broadband connection on my line. I don't know whether my experience is typical but be warned. I have now temporarily gone back to my old dial-up service.

Give BT a call and ask them who has a marker on your phone line, its possible a previous tenant (if you are in a rented flat / house) had a broadband connection and the company he had it with has the line at the moment.

Once you have figured out who it is, ring them and ask for a MAC code so you can transfer your line over.

Its not actually Talk Talk's fault by the sounds of it, you would think they would be a little more helpful though.

    Re: Waiting for broadband

Oh dear.Talk Talk are just not doing themselves any favours. There are quite a few threads here about poor experience with Talk Talk which you may want to check out.I know its not much comfort but there may be some useful advice amongst it.

I want to change my Broadband provider on cost grounds but all these bad experiences mean that there is no way I want to risk it at the moment.
