    Vodaphone - mobile broadband - customer service not responding

    I bought a Vodaphone broadband dongle on a rolling 30 day contract. I subsequently cancelled by letter some 3/4 months later. I got thankyou and goodbye letter.

    sales team rang me and offered same service at one third of price (nothing for six months followed by £15 per month for six months). I accepted.

    short time later dongle fails to function and I get bill for £140 for early cancellation of contract.?

    all phone calls are at a premium rate - one guy admitted it was cancelled in error! - representatives cannot solve problem - email system involves charming people who cannot help (saying charge for early cancellation - but I dont have that sort of contract!!!)

    Now email system representatives not replyng to me - pleading or veiled threats of litigation yielding no results.

    Where should I go next please?

    I suggest you send a brief RD letter to the chief executive at Newbury (link provides) saying among other things you and Vodafone agree that Vodafone has made a mistake which it has so far been unable to rectify. Please arrange for rectification immediately and appropriate compensation to take account of (as you think fit). Also say something like "I appreciate that companies are very reluctant to pay compensation but in this case the company agrees it's made a mistake and has so far been incapable of soting it out which is very worrying as a personal customer (they are keen to get personal customers at present)"

    "Yours, a very disappointed customer (formerly happy... whatever)"
