Good point, andypandy932,
I suppose that's what the 50p landline tax is trying to address. We'll have more information coming next week on what we can all do to help make sure as many people get online as possible. So watch this space...
What's the current state of broadband access in rural areas? Is it still mainly dial-up connections? Has mobile broadband made any real difference?
BenG1 - Good to hear a postive story about a provider. I'm with BT and I'm not sure I'd be willing to part with £60 a month for a faster internet connection - even if I could afford it. That money could be much better spent in my household.
To me, this comes back to the basics of why pay for broadband access in the first place: if it's saving me money, it's a no-brainer. If it's costing me money, I'm paying for the privilege of having it.
