    Re: Vanquis credit card help

One of the reasons why I believed that they don't allow balance transfers, was n3mo's comment "They themselves have said they don't have the ability to set up balance transfers. Whatever that means"

    http://www.moneysupermarket.com/community/forums/post/balance-transfer-from-vanquis-202932.aspx

That was in July 2007. There are other posts from people who also have been unable to complete a balance transfer from Vanquis cards. If they have now changed their rules, then that's good news. Hopefully wonderkid will have similar success with his card.

It's not what you have said n3emo it's the rude way in which you have said it.

This is not the first time that you have posted quite insulting or stupid comments on this forum either !

    Re: Vanquis credit card help

    Theres no usually about it.

They either allow it or not.

I posted to remove the mis conception that you cannt do a balance transfer from Vanquis.

I have avoided attempting to do a balance transfer from vanquis on the back of advice in these forums. I have been incurring heavy interest for no reason it appears.

    Re: Vanquis credit card help

n3emo - It is clearly evident that maxsteam has deliberately used the word usually in his post. This would mean to most reasonable minded person(s) that there may be the odd exception to what he has stated or quite often they may just possibly refuse to transfer.

It is quite rude of you n3mo to make a post on this forum that includes a uncalled for comment with the inapproriate use of the statement, "Ignore the bad news quoted by maxsteam" when all maxsteam has tried to do is quite rightly and in a timely manner (last Month) help the original poster out with his usual well meant intention.

    Re: Vanquis credit card help

Ignore the bad news quoted by maxsteam.

I have a Vanquis card and just acquired a Nationwide c/c with 16 months free on balance transfers. So I requested the balance transfer and guess what - the balance has been transferred.

    Re: Vanquis credit card help

Generally there's a 3% fee for balance transfers and you can repay at any monthly amount above the minimum. If you only pay the minimum each month, the debt will be on your back for a long time. Usually if you pay off the full balance before the due date, there wont be any more charges.

The bad news is that Vanquis do not usually allow you to transfer the balance to another card. You can pay off the balance with a debit card but you cannot usually transfer a Vanquis balance to a credit card with a "0%" promotion.

    Vanquis credit card help

    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me with trying to understand the vanquis credit card found here:

    https://www.vanquis.co.uk/apply

For example if i were to balance transfer over £500 from my vanquis credit card to another debit card of mine first of all how much would the fee be to transfer it over? then how much would i be paying a month to pay back the money. also if i pay off the £500 in full before the month is up does this mean i will get charged nothing and the account is cleared?

    thanks
