    Re: Utilita

Sorry - I did rather assume that everyone knew about the Motley Fool website (now just known as the Fool). They take their name from the simple proposition that as all investment and merchant bankers are so self-servingly "wise", anyone who has another viewpoint must be a fool! And boy do they have aggressively "other" viewpoints.

It has acquired a reputation as being a very  good source of information on matters financial and providing detailed analyses of company performance for investment purposes. I have followed their guidance on a number of occasions, and they offer some similar services to this site. Each has its strengths and unique services - together this site and http://www.fool.co.uk/ do an amazing job for us consumers.

And I love and use both sites extensively.

    Hi,

Thanks for advise. I have not changed yet, but we will soon. Still not sure about what company to change to.

    Thanks again.

P.S. Sorry to ask, but what is the Motley Fool price comparator?

    Re: Utilita

Utilita was suggested to me by the Motley Fool price comparator (with indicative big savings over my current Scottish Power tariff), so I have taken the plunge and joined them.

All has gone well to date - I will keep you informed as things develop.

I haven't changed to Utilita yet as I cannot find any information on them or any recommendations. I might just go for it and find out. I'll let you know.

    Cheers,

    Nashy.

No one has added anything to the above comments nor to the supplier review section. In the absence of any positive feedback,I personally would steer clear.

    Re: Utilita

    Hi,

    Have you changed to Utilita?

If you have, I was wondering if you could give me some advise?

I want to switch my mother's provider over as she has been getting very high bills

The search told me Utilita was the best company, but as I have never heard of them, I'm not sure my mum should switch.

Do you have any information you can give me?

It would be a great help.

    Thanks

    JD

    Re: Utilita

I have never heard of them.I looked on this sites supplier reviews but nobody has completed one yet.

Clicking on their logo reveals the following quote from MS's expert Paul Schofield.I hope he won't mind me copying it here.

'Utilita have re-entered the energy market following its controversial exit in 2006, when energywatch - the gas and electric watchdog - refered the company to the industry regulator OFGEM. We understand that each of the three products available from Utilita have a limited availability as the company looks to get on their feet. '

    Hope this helps.

I'm thinking of switching to Utilita, as they come up as the cheapest energy provider. Does anyone have any experience of this company. Should I stear clear of a new, small, unknown company!! Thanks in advance.
