Uswitch and moneysupermarket gas and electric quotes

Ive entered my details into both the above search engines and have come up with different results for exactly the same information entered.

Uswitch are coming up with Swalec as cheapest, and this one is saying british gas are cheapest. I am currently with Scottish power. Is there any reason why this should be as it is confusing.

    Many thanks.

Re: Uswitch and moneysupermarket gas and electric quotes

On uswitch unless you select otherwise the results table will default to show only those products that you can transfer to online, in otherwords only those which pay uswitch a commission. This is probably the reason why Moneysupermarket is showing B GAs as the cheapest.

The Moneysupermarket results table shows tariffs from the big 6 providers plus specilaist green energy suppliers. They are not our tariffs but they are obtained direct from the providers and they are the cheapest available in line with the Energywatch code of confidence.

Tongue Tied [:S] Re: Uswitch and moneysupermarket gas and electric quotes

I had exactly the same experience. Does anyone know how to find out exactly what the different energy suppliers are actually charging?

    SmartAlex,

Moneysupermarket's search tool use the latest deals on the market. Our system is completely unbias and will provide you with a true reflection of which energy supplier is most suited to you.

If you click on our results table on the 'details' tab alongside each product, our system will show you the actual charges which apply to that product.

The confusion is a result of uswitch's default setting which unless it is changed by the user will only show the products from which they receive a commission. Our system does not do this and will show you a list of all the products available to you as requested by the energywatch code of confidence.

I hope this helps and should you require anymore assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me.
