Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
yep that is the bad boys ip..the good boys get 194.247.?.?
see what i am saying, they cannot change the throttle on the user account you are moved to a different pipe, that is how i see it,i may be wrong .
it is all done via software no human intervention, sorry cannot call pipex human.
since i have been on pipex i get hundreds of syn floods, pings of death, smurf attacks, udp loop
smurf is from 194.247.235.0

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
They cant get away with providing such a low quality service, phone up and demand it gets fixed, yes i know all they do is fob you off all the time, but keep phoning, speak to managers tell then you WILL go to ofcom if this dosent get sorted. OFCOM told me you need to give them 12weeks to fix your connection before you can breach contract. But because we had just joined and had a full month of bad service they gave us a free cancelation which was the only good thing they ever done.

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
Ba**s to that. You should be able to cancel it upto 14 days (at least) from the date it's set up and you can try it out. The reason they don't do this is to bloody well rip us off with what they know is gonna be a shi*t service which provides the fatcats with huge profit margins. It's the cancellation period which needs sorting. I mean if you were to buy any sort of electrical item you would be given upto 28 days to return it if not completely satisfied with it. This should apply to broadband as well.

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
i ran that past the guy b4 abd he said its because it costs them money to set you and get you connected, its utter nonsense tho, in reality theres actually no point whatsoever in the 14 day peace of mind (since sign up date) they offer you, honestly the whole company is just laughable, im just so annoyed with myself that i got myself into this mess in the 1st place, im usually carefull and research things, ah well, im still firing on all cylinders here downloading at 20k/sec, split between 5 torrents, maybe get them finished by spring with a bit of luck :-)

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
dont worry mate, we're all on the same boat, just sit tight andgrin and bear it to we finally find a way out, if nothing else works im just gonna bite the bullet and canel the direct debit and take the consequences, it might be the only thing we can do.
i will never again go with an isp who ties you to 12 month, better off sticking to the 1 month min contract

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
Tigeryang:glad to see the thread moving along again :-) panicos, thanks for trying to research and find all of us a trouble free way out of this, im sure im not the only one who hugely appreciates it.
sezzika, dont suppose you could email me a copy of the letter you sent away? im considering going down this route as it seems the only way out at the moment, im just a bit wary of my credit record being affected or debt collectors coming to the door.
thanks folks
just about to load up my torrent client for some 20k/sec action lol
Tigeryang - here's the letter I sent to them cancelling the DD: (sorry about the length of this post)
Dear Sir/Madam
Please be advised that I do not wish to pay any Pipex bills by direct debit.
I am thusly informing you that the direct debit instruction has been cancelled with my bank, and that any future invoices must be sent to the above address, where I will settle them accordingly.
Future payments will be made by cheque or bank transfer.
If there are any problems please contact me on XXXXX.
Yours Truly,
They sent a letter saying they needed card details - which no way am I doing they'll only take more money!! Otherwise they'll be cancelling the service (which is no use to me at my parents house who have no computer anyway!) i've so far ignored this as I'm working on another letter stating that this has been cancelled as I cannot trust them with my account details - they have breached contract on numerous occasions, and that they still owe me money from 10th August despite being promised a refund over a month ago!
I'm going to bullet point all my concerns and then also bullet what I want to happen that way they know why the direct debit was cancelled, and that cancelling the service to the house will not affect me, (it is in fact a relief) but this is what i'm going to try - to be honest If they do try and take the cancellation and non-payment further I will send them every correspondence, legal letters on breach of contract etc etc - I don't see why we have to pay for their incompetence......
Good luck if you do cancel it - at least they can't take more cash, and just keep records of all your letters, dates of phone calls etc that way you can throw it back at them if they do try to take things further. Also if they do try to mark your credit record - you are able to provide feedback on it - i.e. the reason non payment was due to ..........lack of service etc etc and I think you can get illegitimate slurs on your record removed if they are unfounded - which I think correspond nicely to Pipex!

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
Hi everybody,
It is now 3 months since the Top of the RUBBISH ISP PIPEX HOMECALL, ruining my life.
OffCom and Cisas say that after 3 months they can take action, Guess what? They told me to send another final letter, even that I told them that I have send 4 register letters, 10 emails, and God knows how many call to them and they never bother to replay.
So I have send another letter to an address that CISAS told me.
Pipex
PO Box 273
Welwyn Garden City
Hertfordshire
AL7 1YA
so I have decided not to send 1 only, but from now till my problem is sorted I WILL BOMBARD THEM WITH MY MAIL, to the address above and to the the other one.
Pipex Homecall
Customer Relations Review Service
Christie Fields
Derwent Avenue
Manchester
M21 7QS
I would suggest that everyone do the same, 1 letter a day is easy to send and I hope WILL DRIVE THEM MAD.
God luck

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
What we need to do is just force them to change their 12 month contract thing. Like what happened to (talk talk).
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/09/29/talktalk_lets_customers_leave/
But we need lots of complaints.
"Angry TalkTalk customers are now able to leave their 18-month contracts freely."
"Now the firm seems to have decided it is better off in the long run losing individuals than poisoning the reputation of TalkTalk permanently." I hope to see pipex say that XD.

Re: URGENT - PIPEX PETITION
I sent a cancellation letter last week and have not yet had a reply. I am having difficulty's playing online games ie call of duty as my ping rate is above 170, this was at 20:37. I have also noticed that some web pages take time to load. This is meant to be an 8mb service. I am tempted to cancel DD but do not want get in the SH*T for doing it.
Also i occasionally get the red light on belkin router. Pipex advised me to reset router which i had already done to no avail. Tried there modem and it connected straight away although in the system tray the speedtouch icon was all green apart from the little box in bottom right. Anyway tried router immediatly after and it worked fine. It may possibly be router problem but i seriously have my doubts, as i never had this problem with my previous ISP. I am well P*ss*d off. Ok it works fine at 3am but thats simply not good enough it should work fine all f**k**g day.
