I currently own an E90 communicator I found a phone that suit my needs the Sumsang Omnia, unfortunately I am not entitled yet for an upgrade as my contract expire in April 2009 so plenty time left.

I have been told that if I wanted the handset I will have to pay about 350 pound, I do understand that those are the rules but I was wondering if there is another way to be upgraded.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Unfortunately there's not an awful lot you can do, for free! The only option I could offer is depending on the network you are with you could reduce your monthly tariff to the minimum and try to buy yourself out. Get your PAC code and change networks. It isn't a quick or particularly cheap process though. You are probably best just hanging on for six months and sorting it out then. Sorry if that’s not what you wanted to hear. Someone else may have a better suggestion!

Check on Ebay what price your old phone is worth and see if you can sell it. Then ask yourself... Would you be willing to pay the remainder to buy the new phone?
