    Re: Unlock code for Nokia

As you mentioned, Vodafone will provide you with an unlock code as long as you are on contract

Thanks - both - I did receive my unlock code and it works - I can now connect to mobile internet using 3G Which, previously on Vodafone was a "pipe-dream"

    Re: Unlock code for Nokia

I've no idea if they are reputable or not but some codes can be generated using the IMEI number and some software (which, presumably, is installed on their "server" - a server can be any computer that serves other lesser computers). Other codes need the phone connecting to a computer and you are asked to send off the phone to get these if you can't visit a shop.

In my opinion, you should only use a method if you are fairly certain to get your money back (and your phone!) if it doesn't work. There are peple on eBay who will unlock some phones.

First option, of course, should be to ask your service provider.

Twee - I'm not very mobile savvy, but there's a firm on ebay offering the unlock code for your phone for £4.99 just place item number 160333282306 in the search box to check it all out. You always have the Paypal dispute process if what they send doesn't work....but their feedback is good. !

    Unlock code for Nokia

I have just changed mobile phone providers from Vodafone to T-mobile and need my Nokia E90 unlocked

I have searched the net for a free unlock - but no luck for this particular model

I then found UNLOCKS.CO.UK who quoted £17 to supply me with a code - are they reputable ?

Secondly - why should it take them (up to) a week to supply this code ?

According to an email received today from them "As specified during the order process on our website, customers should allow up to 7 working days for delivery of an unlock code. Codes for the Nokia E90 are usually delivered within 24 hours, however it can take a little longer if the server is busy. Your unlock code will be delivered as soon as it is available."

What is this "Server" mentioned ?

How do they obtain these codes ?

In the meantime - I have discovered that Vodafone are "supposed" to provide unlock codes for free - as long as you have had the phone on their contract for at least 12 months .....
