I am going to get an N95 8GB soon.

My question are: As i am travelling abroad, can I ask Orange to unlock it for me.? IF YES then
1) How long do they provide the code after taking out a contract?
2) How much does it cost?
3) Which department deals with this?

One more question:

If I unlock the phone from an independent store:

Do is it better to get it sim unlocked or phone unlocked (or is it the same thing?)

Someone told me that even if you get the phone unlocked independently, if you restore the phone to factory settings, orange wont be able to tell if you had unlocked it...Just wanted to know if it is true?
