my boyfriend bought me a really nice pair for my birthday last month from www.uggbootshop.com.au. they're made in australia and everything. they're not ugg australia but imo they're just as good. even with shipping they were still half as cheap as the ones i got from the high street.

I got UGGS for myself and daughter in Sole Trader. little bit more pricey than the internet but they are genuine UGGS and if (very unlikely) anything went wrong with them you have a store to return to. they are still lovely a year on.

My husband bought some from a company called NuggZ. The site is www.nuggz.com and they are based in New Zealand. The quality is very good and I am ordering a pair for myself now as the prices are half that of Ugg Australia.

He purchased a tall classic pair with a heavy sole for 100GBpounds excl postage. He says they are great and even had to take them off the other day because they were too warm!

if you wan cheap genuine ugg boots. go on mandmdirect.com. it is really cheap. but they sell out of stuff quicky. so you need to keep checking to see when they get new stuff in. but they are cheap and genuine. there about 70 quid. its worth looking. is just spent 130 quid on there 2nite.

UGG's originate from Australia. So if you buy UGG booths from Australia they are not fake because they have been made their for years, thats where they come from so they can not be fake.

What most people want to buy are UGG's Australia with the brown logo on the heal which most WAG's wear and they are made by Deckers.

I have 2 pairs of Deckers UGG's. They cost me £100 each including postage. They are 100% original. I got them a lot cheaper than the shops as I know someone who is able to get them imported for that price. I will prob get another pair next month.

I bought some £10 ones from a cheapy shoe shop last year and they lasted the winter - I decided to get 2 original Deckers pairs simply because their are so many fakes about and to be honest I just wanted the real WAG deal lol

Its a metter of taste as when they first come out I hated them but they are so so so warm and comfy, you have to experience them to understand!

I had this dilema a while back and did loads of research. I ended up going for ugg australia because from what i could work out Ugg is just a name for the stile of boot. Ugg that you buy in the shops was bought by Deckers and they sell them at the ridicoulus price. Ugg australia are made in australia not china and are genuine sheep skin and lovely. I love mine and would consider another pair. The cost me £90 but are now a lot less because of the exchange rate.

apparently there is a shop in Bury St Edmunds called Walkabout that has imported Uggs in a variety of colours and styles - or something. Just going on what my wife was telling a friend the other day, but remembered it as BSE seems an odd place for Ugg imports.

If you don't live locally, mind, they could have worn out by the time you get home!

Ironically the sites that say GENUINE, 100% Authentic are the ones usually with something to hide!! Also 99% of Real UGG boots are made in china, theres lots of websites around which will tell you how to spot fakes......I found a good site www.uggandstuff.co.uk I ordered my boots there and they were shipped directly from the factory, it took 7 days to arrive as these were specially ordered but i now have a real genuine pair of ugg boots and am very very happy! my friends are well jealous!

I have a pair of REAL ugg boots that I have had for 3 or 4 years. I recently bought a pair from Australia off the internet at Snug Australia - they are not real in terms of ugg boots the celebs are wearing (ugg is a generic term in Australia for sheepskin boots). The real Ugg boots have the word Ugg imprinted through the sole and a larger G in the middle of the logo. The other ones do not have the imprinted sole and no larger G - all three letters the same size.

savememoney - thanks for that tip. However, my forum buddies managed to talk me out of buying a pair of UGG boots. They called them UGGly boots and said that you looked like a waddling duck when you walked in them. Say no more!!!

I bought a pair of very high, platform fettish boots instead (thanks tother). They're a hit!!! Say no more!!! ;o)

savememoney - I hope I haven't upset you as I know that you have actually purchased some boots. My friend has two pairs, one in brown and one in pink and she looks fab when she wears them. It's just that for me personally, I can't actually think of them without the image of a waddling duck - but that's just me!!! lol. You enjoy wearing yours, I'm sure you look great in them.

I like the name 'sunshine' Rich, it sent a warm glow all over me. LOL. TBS - I thought you were younger than me!!! And you don't know who MIKA is????? He's a 24 year old from Lebanon whose parents fled Lebanon to live in Paris where he was bullied and stopped going to school. You wouldn't know that he stopped going to school because in his interviews he comes over as extremely intelligent, articulate, is very well-spoken and speaks several languages. He then became interested in singing and trained with a very strict Russian opera singer. He now writes music. His first album went double platinum and he's big in several countries now. He's currently working on his next album and he's going to be BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG - so look out for him and buy his albums. Actually you sound like you could do with listening to his music. It's very cheerful and guaranteed to put you in a good mood if you're feeling lousy. I promise.

tother: MIKA does wear the skinniest jeans but he has a very skinny physique and carries them off well. Not the sort of physique I'd usually go for but you just have to see it to believe it. Loup: glad you agree - MIKA does 'rock.' He appeals to a wide age group. My 4 year old and 9 year old also sing along and know all the words to his album. In fact, after having such a good night on Monday, I tried to buy some more tickets for the Birmingham gig tomorrow (Friday), on e-Bay but I was outbid in the dying seconds. Damn!!! I really think that the next tour he does will be in the big Arenas, as opposed to the intimate gigs he's doing this tour. As he's still relatively unknown he's performing at the smaller venues and it's possible to get 'up close and personal with him.' Fantastic - all gigs should be like that instead of watching dots on a distant stage and having to look at the big screens to see what they look like because you're too far away.

I found a genuine site that sells all types of UGG boots, Ugg shoes etc. In the FAQ bit they say

I have got a pair of the UGG Classic Tall boots and the UGG slippers from here and they are authentic. They arrived via DHL currier and only cost £4.99 for delivery for both. I have purchased from overseas before but end up getting a large customs duty bill plus they take ages. Hope this helps someone.

thanks for posting this as i bought a pair of fake uggs from ebay much to my annoyence!!! and there is nothing worse than fakes, but they are mighty cosy as this time of year!!!
