    Re: Trust Deed (Scotland)

The trust deed does stay on your credit report 6 years from the date it started. I notice that you say the defaults will be removed in June. If you contact the lenders who entered the trust deed with a copy of your discharge certificate they should be able to update the default dates to January 2002 which would effectively remove the defaults before June. Assuming the rest of your credit report is OK, when all the information regarding your trust deed comes off you will in a much better position to obtain a mortgage.

    Trust Deed (Scotland)

My wife and I entered a Trust Deed Jan 2002, which we were discharged from last year. It was intially for 3 years but extended as we have equity in our house. We had defaulted on various loans and credits cards. On checking our credit files the last default (six years ago) is due to be removed from our files in June this year.

    I have a few questions:

    1. Does the TD stay on our credit files for 6 years from the date it started or from the date of discharge

    2. We want to move or remortage this year - what are our chances of getting a new/re-mortgage

We are currently with Abbey on their variable rate - previously having been on a 5yr fixed rate up to 2005 but they would not let us take out a new fixed rate because of our TD. We have never missed a mortgage payment in the last 15 years and my wife has a catologue ,which was not part of the TD, and never missed a payment. She was also able to get another two catologues last year with small credit limits and again has never missed ay payments. I also see that our phone company appears on the credit file. Will any of this help our score when the TD and defaults are removed from our credit files?

    TIA
