Due to the extreme weather conditions and the overwhelming floods in Cockermouth, I would like to extend my sympathy to the appalling suffering of the many people affected by this catastrophic event.

I would especially like to pay tribute and offer my sincere condolences, pay my respects to the extermely brave dedicated and devoted Police officer PC Bill Barker 45, his family, friends and colleagues.

Damage to property although annoying and expensive can in time be repaired, but Cockermouth, indeed the whole of the Country is now missing a gallant very brave Police officer, that regrettably and sadly lost his own life, whilst acting above and beyond the call of normal duty trying to protect others.
