Travel Insurance that covers missed connections abroad

    Dear MS-Expert,

I am looking for a travel insurance policy that would effectively cover the costs that I might have to incur in the event that I miss a connection in a foreign airport (outside of the UK that is) that is through no fault of my own.

Hypothetically, say I fly from the UK to Atlanta, GA, USA, and wish to take a further domestic flight to my final destination city within the USA. Also, the flight from the UK to the USA was delayed due to some prevailing external factor that was beyond my control which subsequently causes me to miss my US domestic connecting flight. The repercussions of this are that a) If the domestic airline don't grant me any gratuity of rebooking on a later flight, then I must cover the costs of finding a new flight out of my own pocket and b) If the missed connection flight was the last of the day, I might have to spend some 6 or greater hours either in a hotel to avoid the cold, uninviting floor of the terminal building.

Do travel insurance policies exist to cover such an unfortunate turn of events?

Thankyou in advance for your help!
