    Indispensable:

So what you're both saying is, that if I want to book an annual policy and want to be covered for cancellation, then I need to book it before my holiday dates start? So in effect, the sooner the better.

Bingo!!!  Get it booked if you want to be covered for any disaster, which may prevent you from travelling, before 2nd October.

Have a nice time wherever you're going.

Thanks again. Got it sorted now and booked today!!  YAY!

Oh btw, thanks indy..going to the States!! :D

    Re: Travel ins quote query.

Hi, thanks both. I looked at a FAQ but it only related to a single policy and cancellation - nothing about an anuual one.

So what you're both saying is, that if I want to book an annual policy and want to be covered for cancellation, then I need to book it before my holiday dates start? So in effect, the sooner the better. But having said that, I did try to do it starting from tommorrow and from immediately and both came up with that same message so I'm still confused.

The company I was interested in is - Flexicover direct. Is that anything to do with you Flexi?

Spot on Indi, that certainly is the case for Annual policies.

Single trip policies are different as you do enter your actual travel dates but still get Cancellation cover on the policy regardless of whether you are booking a week in advance or a year.

    Re: Travel ins quote query.

    Hi summergirl

OK, I think I'm right in my thinking.  You travel on 2nd October, so if you started your insurance cover from that date you would be covered for 12 months from 2nd October onwards, which is fair enough.

However, imagine now, you've paid for e.g. the hotel, the flight and say tomorrow you have some sort of disaster (for example you fall ill) and are not able to travel.  As your insurance cover doesn't commence until 2nd October you will not be covered for your cancellation costs etc.

However, if you commence your insurance from now, then you will be covered should anything unfortunate happen which will prevent you from travelling.

Hope that makes sense.  Please correct me if I'm wrong guys.

    Travel ins quote query.

I am looking to buy an annual policy and have been checking out the different comparisons on here. I found one I'm happy with as I did this earlier this afternoon but didn't have time to book it then. I have tried again tonight and am getting this message   -

    Compare annual multi-trip prices below.

Did you know? If you apply for an annual multi-trip policy starting on the date you plan to travel you will not be covered for cancellation before this date.

I plan to travel on the 2nd October and am flying back on the 7th October. This also happens if I change it to a single trip policy.

Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this as I'm as confused as hell and really want to get this sorted out asap.

    Thanks
