It would be fine as long as your dad is the policyholder and the main user

    hi

by the very fact that your father will be insuring 2 cars it is most unlikely that he will be the main driver of both cars--insurance companies are not daft-- their aim is to correctly cover the risk & young drivers- unfortunately especially males are statistically more likely to claim-- bear in mind its not just the cost of the car being driven thats at risk but the third party damages may be horrendous. My heart goes out to young drivers. If there is any ambiguity or chance that the main driver is the young driver insurance companies are quite entitled to insist on how they want the car covered-- if the deciscion is to be based on the price paid the young driver must insure the car.Sorry its not what you want to hear!

further to this your dad cant insure a car thats for you Even if hes going to put himself as the owner/reg keeper- this is a fronted risk -- if you go down that road & the insurer doesnt pay after a claim you only have youself to blame. There is no way to get round young driver premiums!!

    Re: Transferring NCB?? Help..

Most insurers will only allow it to be transferred between spouses. In your case, no, it would not be allowed...Sorry

Is this an attempt to get cheaper insurance for a young/inexperienced driver?
