I am a Malaysian working in UK, I plan to buy a house abroad (Malaysia). What is the best way to transfer large amount of money abroad?

Personally I would be inclined to do it from one high street UK bank to a high street Malaysian bank with a telegraphic transfer. You can save a little by using a currency specialist but if it was my life savings I wouldn't deal with anyone who I'd not been happy to deal with previously.
