Yes i can agree with a lot of people on this forum that tiscali c.s. is a nightmare when you have problems on upgrades but once all the problems have been sorted out the service you get for the price is rather good compared to most isp's.
We can sit and write complaints all day long but the fact is that tiscali only use bt lines so if there is a fault, half the time it is down to problems with the bt equipment. I had major problems with them on my upgrade from the 2mb package to the 8mb max package with line rental and calls which took about 8 weeks in total and about 25 calls to their c.s. department but it did get sorted in the end. They did have a lot of upgrades to do as it was the new package at the time.
I know someone else that was with another isp and did not get their upgrade after nearly 4 months.
We think we get problems, dont think so. Needless to say they were compensated for the trouble and went elsewhere.
I have set up many people with tiscali as their isp and have had very few problems at all with new accounts for them. As i say we can sit and gripe all day but it is the same with all isp's so just keep on to them and keep a list of all the calls and claim back any money from them when your work has been completed from their accounts department.
You can also log in on the tiscali forum and go to the broadband problem area and post your difficulties on there and someone will pick up that you have problems and take it on to get it sorted out as the forum is run by tiscali staff and do a pretty good job. This was how i managed to get my problems sorted out and it was actually done within two days of it being picked up by one of their staff.
