    TISCALI ARE TERRIBLE

    Tiscali have what looks like some great offers at the moment. DO NOT USE THEM. I switched to them in January and within a few days the internet connection did not work. It took them 8 weeks to fix it and they said they would keep in contact with me to let me know how the fix was going - They did not. I contacted their help line on a number of occasions in desperation because of this and was kept waiting for ages each time. They are now try to charge me £40 for this. They also have also double charged me a 'reduced' monthly rate for the service they were able to provide. I am now having to fight to get my money back but, because of the level of incompetence I have observed to date, I think it will be a long fight! I have finally been able to move to O2 who are great. They have a free help line where people answer you within 5 minutes and they actually fix your problem. The broadband connection is much quicker and my family is much happier now!!

    Tiscali, Pipex, TalkTalk and AOL - These four should be banned from using the name "ISP" and should be stopped from trading. Not one of these are capable of dealing with "Customer Service" having devolved all responsibility to some backstreet of Delhi whenever they have to live up to their responsibilities.

    The principal word with all of these is "CHEAP" and that is what you get. Lousy service and a possibility of broadband delivery.

    Bally, I had a long thread on Tiscali's poor customer service but I think moneysupermarket deleted because I threatened to reveal the phone number of one of their High Level Complaints Executive.

    Sidestep the normal call centres. Send an email straight to mary.turner (At) uk.tiscali.com and jody.haskayne(@)uk.tiscali.com.

    Oh, and by the way, they owed me 38.18 from a long time back - it was only after emailing the above that things started rolling on a bit (but only a bit). But Tiscali call centres seem designed to send you around in circles.
