    The Christmas thread

Christmas is coming...the goose is getting fat...etc etc

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce: The annual Moneysupermarket.com Christmas thread.

Answer each question in no more than 10 words….and try to keep it positive – it’s Christmas!

1/ What are you doing for Christmas?

Eating mince pies, dodging wrapping paper, cheese and crackers

    2/ Best ever Christmas present?

    ‘Crossfire’ aged 11.

    3/ Best thing about 2007?

Moving home; a white Christmas [hopefully]

    4/ Hopes for 2008?

Cut in VAT; free Ripple for all; peace

    5/ Thread of the year?

Any thread that informs, educates and [preferably] entertains…

Now - I'm sure you can all do much, much better...have some fun ;o)

    Re: The Christmas thread

    1) Cooking, working, cleaning baby poo and eating (food, btw).

    2)  Tiffany cufllinks.

    3) First year being a Dad.

    4) Lower Golf handicap, win some money.

    5) The one about Bluetooth putting kids at risk.

I was going to say that the best Christmas present was my baby boy last year 06 December but that is a bit soppy and technically, I don't reckon it qualifies as a Christmas present.

You gotta tie yourself to the mast my friend, and the storm will end.

    Re: Christmas is coming...

    Magic. Good idea :)

    1) Being manic right up until Christmas Eve, then relaaaaaxing! I refuse to stress out at Christmas. I'm doing some volunteer work for the Samaritans on Boxing Day night though, as I say I will every year. I'll also spend a bit of time lamenting the fact that all the people I don't have much time for will be in my face, and anyone I really want to be with probably won't be around, at least not as much! :(  Oh, and I'll be drunk.

    2) Best every Christmas present- difficult. I got a She-Ra castle when I was about 6 (remember that?!) and it was fantastic, but I think, at a push, my best present was Sega Lock-On for me and my brother. Oh the joy! It was great exercise too, running around shooting each other (if you don't know what that is. google it- it was brilliant).

    3) 2007 was generally bloody awful. I'm not maimed, dead or unemployed despite near misses, so thanks for small mercies. I guess the best thing is seeing the back of it.

    4) I hope 2008 is a more productive year; I spent most of this year swimming against the tide, so to speak. At the risk of being cryptic I'd love to spend the coming year taking care of myself, instead of being shoved around and manipulated. I'm gonna go on holiday a lot- on my own :)  But that makes me sound like a miserable sod so I also hope I can spend time with my nearest and dearest under happy circumstances. A less selfish wish is that the Christmas goodwill extends through the year; one of the worst things about January is when people take off their 'nice person' hat and go back to being bitchy and two-faced. Not everyone, just some.

    5) Thread of the year- 'Introduce yourselves'- got really silly. Very entertaining :)

Ooh hell, I'd run into a wall, I did that enough anyway without the vodka :)

The Lock-On saw a lot less action than She-Ra anyway. She was mainly held hostage by Action Man, being rescued by Ninja Turtles and occasionally she provided a love interest for one of the Ghostbusters (our imaginary storylines were pretty well-rounded, something for everyone).

    Re: Christmas is coming...

Well what an excellent thread well here goes!:-

    1.   Working Christmas Day- Boxing Day, on pager, in hospital so please no one come in! Sadly this time of the year every incident seems so much poignant! Anyway New Years Eve quiet before a drive and a walk up in the Yorkshire Moors/Whitby on New Years Day and finding a place open for fish and Chips!

    2.   Best ever present Hmm... I was so very lucky to have kind parents and the innocence of Christmas past, only 3 TV stations etc meant  more relatives visiting. I guess playing with each other toys and meeting relatives was the best present, sadly nowadays it doesn't happen.

    3.   2007 best thing? love of the grandchildren

    4.   Hopes? That my stepdaughter actually sees some sense and kicks out the parasite partner.

    5.   Thread of the year well as we are remortagaging any thread along those lines. But all threads are interesting and the realisation that however dire your circumstances people are willing to offer sound and rapid advice. Long Live the site!!

Regards to everyone and take care!

    Paul

    Re: The Christmas thread

Wondered when THE BOSS would start a Chrissy Thread! Only 10 words for the SHARK! - are you mad!?

    1. Christmas Eve at church followed by family lunch on the day itself.

    2. Scalextric when I was 8. Still have it now! Waiting for baby to play as well ...

    3. My son being born.

    4. Keeping the business afloat and a roof over our heads!

    5. So many victims, so many teeth marks to remember! Has to be anything with Richie having a go ... so much fun!

Happy Christmas to all in MS-land and all the posters/readers - nearly a year now and still swimming!

    SHARK!

    Re: The Christmas thread

1/Spending time with my family, wrapping the endless presents on xmas eve, and trying to relax after a very hectic 2007

2/ Best ever xmas present was a bear my uncle brought me back from saudi arabia on leave from the army in 1984 (showing my age now - seems ages ago lol)

3/For me the best thing about 2007 is moving on into 2008, lost my step-dad to terminal cancer and my son had ill health for most of it.

4/Brand new year to bring brand new joys, due to have a baby in July and hoping to move home before the big occasion (think i'm hoping for too much but who knows), winning the lottery would be another hope for 2008 but got more chance of plaiting fog.

5/Thought the one about Blue Tooth was very amusing!!!!!! Like any that entertain.
