If touchscreen is her thing, then i would suggest getting an Orange Vegas. Although it isn't a branded mobile phone as such, it does have a relitively good touchscreen for budget price. Asda sell these for around the 50-60 pound mark. For good media usage i would advise the Sony Ericsson W910i. Once again, this product doesnt go for much more than 100 pounds and yet it offers an excellent media player for Mp3's and video's alike. There is also a vast range for games on them too. I hope this has helped your predicament somewhat. Oh, by the way, i also know some good websites to download completely FREE games from. I use it myself :D

    Happy buying,

    Ian.

It may not be what she wants to hear, but the best thing for your 14 year old daughter is the basic Nokia that she has and not an all singing & dancing touch screen camera/MP3 player.

In all reality I think there will be a fine balance between the length of time it takes to get broken while being banged about at school and time it takes for it to be old and need replacing to keep up with mates.

    Teenagers and mobile phones help!

My sons LG mobile phone has just died after 18 months and my 14 year old daughter refuses to use the basic Nokia I got her. They both barely use the phone for calls, but make the off text and recieve texts and calls. They both want a phone for emergency calls, but mainly for the MP3, radio, camera and now my daughter says touch screen. I am happy to buy them a phone for Christmas with a £10.00 starting credit that meets these requirements but they will have to pay the PAYG costs after that. They only get a small amount of pocket money each and as mentioned don't use that more airtime. What would people recommend for them that's going to last and put up with being probably banged about at school.
