Line a cake pan with aluminum foil. Fill with water and add 1 Tbls. of baking soda per 2 cups of water. Heat to 150 degrees. Lay silverware in pan, touching aluminum foil. Watch the stains disappear!

Cheap thick bleach and squirt of washing up liquid cleans lino as well as the posh stuff.

And gives off poisonous fumes, too. Tut tut TY.

First I thought I was the only one that had worked out and put this dubious money saving idea into practice. Second I wonder if it's theoretically a bad idea but doesn't really matter in practice if done occasionally? Is it a generational thing that your dad and I aren't 'chemically correct'?

My Dad does it to save money, but i don't know how old youa re TY, so I can't comment on the generational thing.
