Good luck, mascher01, it sounds incredibly frustrating.
By taking your case to Trading Standards, you'll be helping protect this company's future customers as well - so it's not just your own drive at stake.

In March this year I had my driveway tarmacked by a company offering a 3 year guarantee. Within a month weeds started coming through and the driveway has been sinking around the edges. In May when we had some hot weather, the tarmac started melting and even the slightest tyre pressure lifted the tarmac leaving the driveway looking 'pitted'. Company said nothing they can do as the damage is caused by me turning in the driveway (they have completely ignored the other problems with the sunking drive and weed growth). I live on a busy main road and had the driveway tarmacked so that I could turn the car around. Please advise.
My advice to others is not to use internet based companies without genuine references (even if they have been going for 40 years).
