    Hi there,

    Well I never did recieve my letter and no  my caller display isn't back on either.  But there is some news talk talk have been in touch and apologised.  They made a measly offer in compensation.  But it looks as though getting in touch with OTELO has really helped.  So for any in the same position, I will keep you updated on my progress.  It should be interesting if nothing else!!!

    Ineresting read, I recently joined Talk Talk and lost my caller display, I did not connect it to the transfer, have you got yours back??

    Hi! When I was having problems with 'talktalk' I joined August 2006 in the first few months. My bills stated one amount and deductions from my bank account said another. Not a lot of difference but nevertheless different in their favour not mine. + Many times I could not connect etc etc. I know I am not the only one. What I did in the end I visited my local Carphone Warehouse with my contract where I had signed up and demanded an explanation.  The manager was sympathetic and did everything he could. It was on a Saturday and the shop was very busy and a lot of people were listening to the story. I was there for an hour where he made many phone calls to managers and got all their names etc with promises to get my problems sorted out.  He really earnt his money that day. Anyway Lo & behold. A miracle happened and everything was sorted out. I have an odd occasion where I can't connect maybe twice in past 6 months.but overall everything else has improved. The moral of the story is GO TO THEIR SHOP. It might work for you too.

    Don't wory too much about the threat to sue. It may never happen - just trying to scare you. I'm in a similar position in that Pipex want £140.78 to free me from contract and I've never even been connected ! They've got no chance !!!

    Don't take too much notice of the threat to sue. It's probably a normal ploy to make you pay up - there have been too many complaints about them, some of which were on TV news bulletins so they probably can't really afford further bad publicty.  Stick to your guns, as the saying goes. I'm going to be in a similar position probably with Pipex who are now owned by Tiscali and are demanding £140.78 to leave them and

    Hi bazlangton,

    Dont give up, I got my monthly fees waived because of all the mistakes made, Talk Talk are rubbish, I was also threatened with the debt collectors, when my complaint was still pending I was furious, there is another Company you could try Ofcom. I tried to get intouch with the owner Mr Dunstone, he never replied instead I got this person, enclosed below, I hope this helps or try watchdog, who have already had a go at Mr Dunstone previously, over his Broadband promises, when he could not deliver. If Watchdog get enough complaints and I am sure there will be thousands, they maybe able to nail him again on his incompetent Company.

    Keep me posted how you get on.  I'll do the same, once I've hopefully recieved my letter back (although I am not holding my breath on that one!!).  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.  Good luck.

    Hi thanks for that information. I will try contacting otelo as you suggest as I have been to the citizens advice bureau, trading standards, and numerous solicitors for some advice, none of which could help me and all of which sent me on a wild goose chase.

    Hi, I'm another one with problems with Talktalk, they updated the line and we lost caller display and answering service.  That was 6 months ago.   I have never been treated so badly before from a company that advertises with people in their banners.  I called the last time insisting I speak to a manager and your right I have now waited almost a month to hear the manager, she never did call me back.  Should never have fallen for the trick of the manager will call you back after I hang up!!!  I have just sent my last and final letter of complaint to talktalk, they have until the 6th of August to reply.  I have already contacted otelo  the telephone ombundsman, I would strongly suggest everyone do the same.  enquiries AT otelo.org.uk send them an email and tell them about your situation, the more people that do so means that something can be done about talktalk and the way they treat their customers or as in so many cases these days ex-customers.

    Yes I know exactly wot you mean, I have had nothing but trouble with Talk Talk as well. I have wasted so much time and money ringing them and waiting for call backs from managers who never call. When you ring again you are told that you have never made a call and they call you a liar when you tell them the information you were given by one of their advisers. After getting nowhere on the phone I tried to complain by letter. All my letters were sent by recorded delivery and the Post Office has confirmed delivery of each one. Talk talk do not respond to your letters either but when you get fed up and cancel your contract as you have paid for a service you have never had they sting you with a disconnection fee and get debt collection agencies to harrass you. I have been everywhere to get advice on wot to do but nobody seems to have any answers so I have paid the bill now. I am not going to leave it there though I am going to pursue this until they pay me back . They are truly the most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune to come across. All Talk Talk do is talk talk a load of ***!!

    Talktalk fraud

    I have been pulling my hair out with talk talk for 9 months now and have decided to leave them even though i'm in an 18 month contract (SO I FOUND OUT). But today i find out i'm going to be charged £70 pounds to leave? why i ask? well i was told because i'm on contract for 18 months which i was told by the salesman it was only 12 and because they have given me a good service!!!!!! What i said i have done nothing but made phone calls and sent letters!!! They tell me the only complaint i made was back in december 06, so i said what about the 11 letters i've wrote and never got a reply and at least a phone call a month.

    They said they have never received any letters or phone calls as they would have been logged, well i couldn't believe it not only do i not get fast broadband as promised, some months i can only use it once a week but then can't call from my home phone which should be free as that also doesn't work and goes off at least once a month!!!!

    They now want more money from me for a disgracefull service and now saying i'm lying as ive never complained so i have to pay up or face being taken to court. Carphone warehouse should be ashamed of the service they have NOT given and then threaten people with court action.

    DON'T JOIN TALK TALK THEY ARE RUBBISH AND NOT BOTHERED ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE
