    Hi All,

A requirement of migration to TalKTalk is that you have an active line on the BT Open Reach network.

If you line is not active or you have a cable line installed TT can still provide services, but a new line installation is required.

This is an industry issue as lines cannot be directly transferred from Virgin media, or reactivated depending how this was disconnected from the BT OR Network initially.

If you join the TalkTalk members forum (http://www.talktalkmemberms.com/forums) we can by all means investigate any issues, however in terms of new lines all charged relevant to the installation would be confirmed in advance, to ensure the customers full and informed understanding of the applicable charges.

    Regards

    Mark

I just want people to be perfectly clear what they might be getting themselves into.
I do have a cable to my house but it is from previous owner but still no discount

If it's Virgin Cable to Talktalk then they will have to install a new line, they can't port numbers across from cable unlike other providers.

It is indeed in the small print so "caveat emptor" - https://sales.talktalk.co.uk/products/broadband/new-line.html

Beware anyone who might want to move from Virgin to Talk Talk
    Their adverts are misleading.

Apparently it's all in the small print!! but I took their net advert on face value and I find that they are not prepared to connect me at £29.99 but are charging £70 - they do not give calls for free for 6 months as clearly advertised and finally to add insult - the contract is for 24 months not 18 month. In all, a disgraceful misrepresentation from this company.

Oh yes and when transferred to Customer service you get South Africa and when asked to be transferred back to a UK operator you get Carphone Warehouse. I wonder what it must be like working for a company like thsi
