    Couldn't agree more!!

Had a poor broadband experience, with line dropping and poor speed - binned the talk talk modem and purchased a netgear wireless hub/modem.

     Now in broadband heaven....

And still happy with the service after 5 months.

Re: TALK TALK - No problems

"Connection problems are extremely commonplace for anyone using the supplied hardware."

Too true, but this does not only apply to talktalk, many subscribers to other ISPs post similar complaints withregard to
    modem failures, line dropping etcetc.
This is I believe due to the fact that ISPs will supply the cheapest form of modem they can lay their hands on regardless of whether they supply it free or ask you to cough up for it.
The answer is not to use the ISPs supplied modem but to buy your own, many good modems can be had from sites such as
ebuyer, you can get a BT modem from them for as little as £10 inc P&P
The second point is to ensure that you always have a back up modem, £10 must be worth it.

When I signed up to talktalk I had taken on board the problems that others had experienced with modems supplied by ISPs and
purchased my own from a good source. It has payed off handsomely, I have two PCs (only one online at any one time)
have installed good PCI modems, and have a spare USB type to check out any problems. Got the whole lot for about £21
as opposed to talktalks supply price of about £29 for a modem.
You back up your data, why not back up your modem?

    Hope this helps.

2g? I think this is a thread that needs to be looked at VERY closely. No-one gets 2g and no-one that I know of is happy with Talk Talk - that is assuming that they have it in the first place ...

Re: TALK TALK - No problems

Talktalk. I changed to TT a few months ago, have had no significant problems and the TT 3 Int package is amazing value for money so I’m happy but don’t know if the little problems I have are normal. These are:-

Customer service is poor unless my problem is totally within the scope of the department AND individual I am speaking with.

My connection fairly frequently disconnects for no apparent reason other than say I may have paused while filling in an online form. As soon as I click on again it is back.

When double clicking on the TT icon to start I quite often get error messages and have to persevere until I get a connection.

All feedback on whether or not these are ‘standard’ problems welcomed. Thank you.

    TALK TALK - No problems

I may be the only person on this forum here who likes Talk Talk !

I've had the service in for 3 months

Only gripe was the speed initally was only 2.2g but they wrote last week to say they were upgrading, now average is 4.7g

    No issues with payments either

    Hope others get sorted

    Andy
