Re: Talk-Talk Customer Service "ooooh my god !!!!"

I became a talktalk customer in June 06. Was told broadband would not be available until mid September 06. We went live on Broadbandmid July 06, 6 weeks early. No problems at all. The telephone service works very well.

My son bought a new house in May 07. We had to use BT to get a telephone line. Service OK. However I think the costs are high. We cancelled BT within 2 weeks of line going live and moved him to BT. All went like clockwork. Broadband was available the day he switched to talktalk.

I would go with them again and my costs compared to BT have fallen dramatically.

Re: Talk-Talk Customer Service "ooooh my god !!!!"

I am a Talk Talk  customer. I applied to become a Talk Talk 3 customer mid May and was connected to Talk Talk the first week in June my only problem was getting my MAC code from my former provider. Talk Talk even sorted that problem for me and when I was having problems with my former provider Talk Talk even offered to stand by me. They are easy to talk to and  any problems you can't get over on the phones or help line Carphone Warehouse are always willing to help. I have had no problems with Talk Talk since I joined. But I am only speaking as I find them and I cannot say anything against them as beleive me there is worse out there than Talk Talk.

Re: Talk-Talk Customer Service "ooooh my god !!!!"

I am connected after 5 months of waiting. Issues, all issues seem to have been resolved without compensation. Even wrote 7 more than 7 letters of complaints and numerous phone calls, no reply, not even a letter to say they received my complaint letter. This is really horrible. Whan can you do about such a bad service? nothing I guess. I just thought if there are people like me who have waited their connection or broadband modem for 5 months like me. They sign you up to take over you line. Then you wait for broadband for months, when you call and ask when the broadband will work? they tell you have to buy a modem. Then you keep on calling for few more months and after 34 promises of deliveris the modem arrives at the end through the letter box.

I had me lesson. I wish I never left BT.

Re: Talk-Talk Customer Service "ooooh my god !!!!"

Fair? Nothing is fair. 1) I moved my BT line toTalk-Talk on at the end of March 2007, reason was to pay a line rental which I was paying anyway and enjoy a broadband for free (not for the free calls). 2) My line went with them on 26th April 07. 3) Have had no phone for 1 month, this time BT that I left cannot help and the new nTalkTalk people are just making talktalk on my mobile. Complained and complained and complained and got no where. All operators are in a city called Bangalor in India and they drove me bananas big time. 4) I gave up, I almost gave up. This time costing me money that I pay via direct debit and the mobile phone I am using day time to call them. 5) Finally, they send a BT engineer who said if the problem is yours they will charge you. It was the box, don't what he did it worked. 6) Then the broadband, I asked a modem. They said they will charge me. The modem I waited to tghe end of August, another 4 months from going live 26/04/07. 7) This time, the cost for the line to me is over £120, mobile cost for calls I made to speak to them for asking to serve me. 8) Finally earlier this month 2 or 3rd September, I called customer services asking if they can help me nove back to BT. They asked why? I said ask me not why; I miss BT and please let me speak someone who can help me move back to good old BT. 9) Guess, I am still paying without even using tyhe free calls they think is why people come to them. 10) At the end, someone called me asking why I am moving back to BT, I told them that I have waiting my broadband modem for 5 months, 5 months I paid you without servicing me. She said she will arrange modem for free in 48 hours. 2 Weeks later I received no modem. 11) I called again, asking them what happen to my modem? they said they will send one again, this time it will reach me after 5 working days. 12) Few days ago, I got the modem and I am stupid happy customer who is still paying TalkTalk. I am just tired of complaining and complaining and complaining, I cannot complain anymore "No one listens or cares anyway". I tell you what, you must be feeling the same pain. How about you? tell me what you think, are you thinking what I think about TalkTalk?  Let us share your story with us. Come on everybody, there could a million people out there chewing their lips with anger and frustration.

    Regards,

    Bashman

    Re: Talk Talk Beware

Hey Duncs, I think you're right that people who didn't have many/any problems just don't write up on it !!

I signed up in mid/late Sept, and was informed that the wait for broadband would be almost 3 months. They suggested Dec 20th would be my "Go Live" date for broadband, and it certainly was just that.

Ok, my modem has never turned up, which I've complained about, because I've been charged for it, but the service has been pretty seamless since it's been up and running.

Good luck to all of ya !!

    Matt.

    Re: Talk Talk Beware

I think talktalk has over extended itself and as a result is struggling (see this http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2095-2281303,00.html It might be old news but thought it pertinant to the conversation)

Once the company find's it's feet I think it will be an excellent service. When that day comes I might return to them, but I doubt it will stay a free sevice for much longer.

    Re: Talk Talk Beware

    Hi Darren,

I had a similar experience to you, signed up on the 21 july.

Won't bore you with the details but I think you know already as you seem to have experienced similar.

However I got the broadband in November and have not had one problem with either the phone or the broadband since.

Maybe I am the 0.1% who is now satisfied (can't be happy due to three months trying to get the phone package!) or maybe it is only the people with problems who complain.

It seems that all providers are getting a slating at the moment and at the end of the day, you get the customer service you pay for, and this is a cheap service!!

I would stronly reccomend you go into a Charphone Warehouse store and ask them to sort it. I did in the end and it seemed to do the trick.

    Hope 2007 works for you!

    Duncs

    Re: Talk Talk Beware

Hi mate. I have just posted this:

    Hi Jason,

I ordered TalkTalk on 30 October and received my welcome letter, fine. next was my GO LIVE date, fine.
My go live date was 6th December. At this point i didn't know if i also received the modem on or before this date.
It came to the 8th and i rang them as i had no modem. They said to me that i will get it by the 10th and said "Sorry".
I emailed them on the 10th as i had no modem and they replied saying we can't give you a timescale but it will be put down as URGENT.
I rang them on the 15th December as i have no modem, they said it will be with you shortly and they didn't know what the hold up was.
The 18th had come, and i still have no modem. I emailed them saying i am not happy and i would like the modem price to be waivered. Free modem basically. The main reason is the principle, but another reason is i am paying TalkTalk £19.99 per month call package but i am still paying AOL Internet the same for 1MB broadband. I should be getting free broadband.

Today is the 21 December and the Post for Christmas has or is coming to an end until the new year. I have read forums but 99.9% of their Customers are so unhappy.

Will i get any better service or even the internet through them?
    Regards
    Darren

    Talk Talk Beware

I've joined upto talktalk in mid October 2006 and at signup I was told that I would get broadband in 3 weeks time. My phone line got moved to talktalk on 1-Nov but I am still waiting for my broadband(Dec 19). After calling customer service multiple times (and holding on for quite a long time) I got responses informing me that it would happen in 2 weeks, one chap told me that I would have to buy talk talk broadband but that would be a contract for 12 months(apart from the original contract), totally confusing. 2 months later I am still waiting even for an activation email. I now use dial up service from AOL until my broadband becomes active. (£15.99 a month)

I was with Virgin broadband for over 2 years and except for 2 occasions for some billing enquiries, I never had to call them. I wish I had stayed with them but the lure of "phone + broadband" has brought me in to this situation. For anyone wanting to go for Virgin Broadband -thumbs up, thats a good option.

I've learned my lesson, the hard way and would recommend the same to any prospective talk talk customer - stay off talk talk. I wish Ofcom or someone takes notice that thousands of customers complaining about talk talk aren't fibbing and take some action on the company. At the very least they should give out realistic times before people sign up so that customers go in with their eyes open.
