    Talk Talk

A week ago a rep of the talk talk company approached me in the street and tried to persuade me to sign up to the company. I was interested but, as the lady could only sign you up on the spot, she advised me to check it out on the website. This I did and asked for a callback. Today, after speaking to a rep on the 'phone for nearly 30 mins I ageed to accept their paperwork with the proviso that I had 21 days to cancel. I rang my son to say what he had done and he advised me to check out this forum. Having read the comments I decided I just didn't want to get involved. I then spent a long time trying to speak to someone in order to cancel. All I got were disembodied voices. Eventually I got through to a sales person who was the most rude/aggressive person I have ever encountered. He told me I was through to the wrong dept., he couldn't put me through to the right one, there was no manager or anyone else I could speak to and why did I want to cancel when I'd only just ordered. He was badgering and most unhelpful. After telling him I found his manner unacceptable I hung up. I do hope that this call was recorded. After several more attempts I finally spoke to a very pleasant lady who took details of the order number etc and said I would receive a call back confirming the cancellation. I propose to write letters as appropriate and will let people know the outcome. However, on the basis of 'Bob's' telephone skills I wouldn't advise anyone to get involved with this company.

Yep - that sounds like TalkTalk for you. Best move you made was leaving them alone. Yoghurt pots and bits of string are more reliable!

    Re: Talk Talk

Update re my diatribe of Talk Talk experience. Did eventually manage to cancel and got an apology for 'Bob's' rudeness.

Am now happily signed up with Virgin and their operatives have been most helpful. Still get the disembodied voices tho'....... DKGS
