Re: Switching from Pre payment meter to Direct Debit

As long as you have a good history of paying bills on time, you should be able to find a supplier who charges either nothing or a lot less than £900. It's a 20 minute job and the "new" meter will come out of stock and the "old " meter will go into stock to be fitted somewhere else.

I do not know which supplier does the best deal for changing meters but if you phone round a few suppliers I am certain that you can do much better than £900 as long as your payment history is good.

Switching from Pre payment meter to Direct Debit

Just need bit of advice regarding charges for switching meters. I am currently with Scottish Power and would like to possibly switch my meters from pre payment to direct debit but the cost to do this is just too much as it would cost approximately £900 upfront to switch the meters. Can you please advice are there any providers that do not charge for exchanging meters?

    Thanks
