My electricity bills are so high. I cannot work out how so much could be used.I have a small 3 bed cottage, with 2 adults and 3 children. No one is home during the day, heating and water is by oil fired combi boiler. I have normal appliances, mostly A rated. i.e. fridge, 2 freezers, washing machine, 4 tv's, computer, and the usual small ones, light bulbs (all new type). My usage is now at 27 units a day. (6 on night rate, the rest on day rate) how on earth can we be using so much. the only things on in the day are the fridge and freezers, i have an LPG hob and an electric oven which is on for about 1 hr day. I have contacted Swalec, one person was helpful and is going to send a monitor as she thinks it is way to high, the other one said that it is normal to use this amount as my heating is electric. It is not, it is an oil fired combi boiler, I know it uses elec to pump water, but water on for 1hr day and heating on for 2 hrs in evening. As the usage does not really change from summer to winter, i cannot see that this is the problem. I am at my wits end, can someone shed any light on the matter??
