    Hi RGB

I totally agree with you. I'm emigrating too. If I stay in this country I would have to work until I die!!

    Hi Lancer,

It sounds to me like a common problem, especially as they knew what you were going to say to begin with.

I doubt they will take this any further, and just take this off.

However, you really want to settle the account before you set off leaving the UK for good. If you ever wanted to come back, it would be a shame if £50.00 and several CCJ/Defaults because of it, landed you unable to get credit in the future.

They wont chase you abroad for £50 but they can still impair your UK credit.

PS. you going anywhere nice? I'm thinking about leaving too... UK is getting ridiculous to live in. Can't say this, Can't do that, How much?!?! etc!

Store Credit Card - interest applied after account was fully payed

Recently I paid off a store credit card that had a special buy now pay later plan. Unfortunately because I paid on within the end of the month's billing cycle and not the specific plan ending date (about 3 weeks earlier the billing cycle) The month after I cleared the account they've dropped 6 months of interest on me (about 50.00).

Their monthly statements were never very clear and I paid over the phone where I asked to pay the amount in full but no interest was mentioned at that time. Anyway I've talked to the company and am now writing a formal complaint outlining how their statements and people have been misleading. (Apparently this is a problem with a lot of people. When I rang up they knew why I was calling before I even said my name.)

If I continue to fight is it likely to get dropped? I'm asking that the interest be removed and my account canceled.

Also, I'm permanently leaving the country in a few months anyway, so they will never get their money. I've heard they have trouble chasing someone with 50,000 debt much less 50.00. I don't see much value in them pursuing this.

    Any thoughts
