    Hi Mc-Fie

There is a company called JBI that can arrange cover for people outisde the UK. Check out their expatriates link on jbionline.com

It's not clear whether you are in South America at the moment and will be staying there or if you are planning to travel there after your contract expires. This could make a difference to the type of insurance available to you.

    Hope this helps.

Have a look at the worldnomads.com Travel Insurance. Aparently recommended by Lonely Planet and Rough Guides. Can be arranged online while abroad and covers some adventurous activities.

Post back if you are able to arrange cover with these people and what their policy/premiums are like.

You can take cover out with PJ Hayman, but it will be loaded, you will have to contact them before you arrange cover and obviously it will exclude cover for anything prior to cover starting

    Hi

I have just checked this for you direct with the provider, this is unfortunately not the case, should your policy of been with PJHayman and was still valid they would of been able to extend obviously dependant on the claim history. They do however, offer an "already travelled" on their Travel Plus product but this is only if you have forgotten your insurance and have contacted them within 17days of leaving the UK. Unfortunately as your current insurance has expired and you are out of the country you will not be able to get this.

    thanks

Starting a Travel Insurance while already out of the country

    Hi

I am currently working abroad, my travel insurance expired a while ago, and my business insurance will stop when I finish my current contract next week. Does anyone know of an insurer who will start a policy with the insuree already out of the country? I only need for 3 weeks, South america, including scuba diving.

    Thanks!
