    Re: special needs

Sorry that should have said they support parents of 'children' with special needs lol. If you need any more info let me know as i used to work for Parent Partnership myself and am now an educational social worker so i know a fair about about that area.I know its getting increasingly harder to have children in special schools unless they have very complex needs but it does not mean its impossible. You would have to appeal part 4 of your childs statement which is the provision and it will depend on what provision is in your area. If you can prove that the provison in the area is not adequate to meet your childs needs then you would have a stronger case. Does your child have one to one support within school? If so how many hours do they get? Would you definately want them to move schools or would you be happy if they got more one to one support? It depends on what you feel is best for your child.

    Re: special needs

Hi i strongly recommend you go to your local Parent Partnership Service. Every council should have one. They support parents of special needs within the education system. They can help on your behalf to speak to schools and liaise with the local authority for you. My husband manages one in the merseyside area however every council has one so if you search for it on your local councils webpage for more info. Hope that helps, they can provide you with support and advice around statements and provision.
