    Re: Small Business Banking

It is a very big decision for any small business to move banks. This is because you normally have built up a relationship with the bank and on those occasions where your business needs short term borrowing facilities or maybe technical help, the bank are usually happy to oblige. In your case, it appears that you have not developed that relationship. Therefore, if I were you I would seek out the manager within A&L to discuss your concerns and see if they are able to help.

There is old joke that has some wisdom buries within it and could apply here, it goes like this:

A young couple are moving into a new town and see an old man leaning against a gate. "What is this area like they ask?" "What is it like where you come from enquired the old man". People are really unfriendly and keep themselves to themselves said the couple. Well it is like that here said the man. A few moments later another couple co-incidently asked the same question and got the same question back, what is it like where you come from said the old man? "It is great said the other couple, people are really friendly and we all get along". The old man said, well it is like that here too.

If the moral of this story does not apply, then try HBOS.

    Small Business Banking

I run a one man building design business as a limited company and currently bank with Alliance & Leicester using their on-line system which has just been updated after a wait in excess of 20 months. Their web site is stll very difficult to use and they fail to respond to any complaints / messages sent to them. The help line is also not particularly accommodating. I am consequently looking for another bank who provide a similar deal of no charges and a reasonable interest rate for the deposit account i.e. 4.02% currently.
It seems to be a tall order, can you help?
