First post so if I do anything wrong let me know.

I was previously with tiscali. speeds were fine, fairly constant no problems, but I discovered movies and music to download, which tiscali seemed to take exception with, so as I was out of contract, I decided to have a look around and see if I could get a better deal elsewhere.

I looked at some of the forums and decided upon madasafish. To be honest they all seemed pretty much the same, but the name kind of stuck in my head. I signed up for madasafish max plus broadband. The transfer seemed to go fairly smoothly, apart from tiscali knocking me off 2 or 3 days early. I phoned madasafish, explained the situation and they putme on line pretty much straight away. Great so far.

I did the 10 days thing, with the line speed fluctuating. I kept checking the speed, started off at 0.28Mbs, but started to rise. Downloading I acheived sppeds in excess of what Tiscali could offer. From around 128kbs to about 250Kbs with madasafish.

The last week or so though, my speeds have hit rock bottom. Ive averaged about 250-300Kbs when downloading, last week I hit about 28kbs. Phoned up Madasafish, explained the situation, the chap said he would look into it and do some tests and he would boost my connection.All went well for a few days until I fired up tonight, my speed has hit rock bottom again, worse than before. I can acheive a download rate of 12Kbs, just tested the speed checker a few times tonight, ive gone from 1.32Mbs to 0.12Mbs. which is less than broadband speed !!

Just changed the microfilter. No change. I know the line outside is fine, because I had the line renewed from the pole to my house last year. I cannot think of anything else to do. Anyone have any ideas.

I realise that when I signed up I was not going to get 8Mbs, but I was told that my line could accept speeds of approx 6.5Mbs, Im obviously not getting anywhere near that.

If someone has got any ideas, I would apreciate any suggestions you would be able to make. If anyone from Madasafish is reading this.............help

I can check our your account in detail - could you please email me care @ Madasafish.com and in the subject line put ATTN: SAMARA.

But first, can I run you through a few things? This may help others too:

1. Are you connecting from the master socket? If not, please move your router to the master socket.

2. Do you have a long telephone extension cord running between the router and the master socket? If so, please get rid of it and use a long Ethernet cable instead.

3. What security hardware are you using? MacAfee has an Antiphising filter that really interferes with speeds when it's on.

4. Do you have 1 microfilter fitted to every phone socket that's in use?
