I had a similar offer and posted it here too! Only prob is, you need the other persons reference numbers to claim your free box ( in my case M+S vouchers) I did not think it was worth the hassle so just offered the free box to any one who wanted it!

Christmas is a time for giving not recieving and I got pleasure in giving to a single mum who could not pay the instalation fees.

Before that, I got my sky box upgraded by telling sky I did not want them anymore and wanted to cancel my DD and low and behold a free + box and free instalation came my way within 5 days. You could always try that? So we both got free boxes and instalation

    Win! win! I would say!

    Just food for thought!

Just got off the phone with Sky now. They didn't seem interested at all, when I said I wanted to cancel the best they could offer me was £179 for a sky + box and installation! When I said that Virgin were £100.00 cheaper than them and I was thinking of moving they were not bothered!

    Oh well!

You need to take it right to the end of the line.

Call them again and tell them you would like to cancel and ask to be put through to the right department.

    They will ask you why...

    answer.

I dont think I am getting value for money, And the movies are not that great. Its for the kids really, and they are out when their programms are on so they dont watch it that much now sorry! Can you put me through so I can cancel please.

    OK (sky)

When you are put through tell them the same thing. If that does not work and they offer you the same deal as before tell them that it is not a good deal as your sister got heres for £50 inc instalation. so still not a good idea. say NO THANKS.besides you got an offer in the post for a free box (Quote the ref if they ask) and say that would be the only way you would keep sky.

If worse comes to worse then they might offer you the deal for £50. Would you accept that

Did u have any problems getting ur free sky + box? we have just done the recommend a friend, get a free sky + box. Our friend got the box, no probs, but we have been told that we will have to pay £60 set up cost for a box. We were planning on giving the box to parents anyhow, and told Sky that we didn't need it installing, but they are adamant that it has to be installed and for this price.
