    Re: sinking in debt

I like that you are already with a debt helping company, I am in the same boat. My question is could you cope without remortgaging. I have always refused hands downto remortgage & am glad I did now, I only have about 11 years to pay on mine.It seems a lot but not when I think I've had the same mortgage for 14 years, it doesn't seem that bad.

I'll also hold my hands up, we have had probs with Halifax & nearly had the house repo'd but I slogged it out with them, which even ended in court but because we were offering to pay the arrears of at an affordable amount, the judge sided with us, the halifax backed down, accepted the payments for the arrears & we are still in the house 7.5 years on.

Keep your head held high & think about the remort

    Re: sinking in debt

    Hi

I can relate to this as we were in an iva and we managed to go ahead with our remorg we had to contact out iva compa and get them to clear off the iva this way they tell will tell you how much money that you have to give them to get the iva paid off and what ever is left will HAVE to go on other debts sounds simply but it is not that easy took us best part of 6months but we had a good morg adviser and solicitor.

    Hope this helps?

    Re: sinking in debt

Thanks for that, I am already in a debt management programme though and looking through their website it doesn't seem that they help with remortgage advice. I will keep looking.

    Cheers!

    Hi!

I used company called Debt 3 Options in the past. They can sort out most of your financial worries (apart from bankruptcy I think). But even if you don't want to commit to them you can download a free ebook from their site that will certainly help you with managing your finances and finding some debt help.

    Have a look on http://www.debt3options.co.uk/

    sinking in debt

    Hi all,

My partner has an IVA and I have adverse credit rating including a CCJ (although I have applied to have this set aside). Our mortgage fixed term is due to end in April and with the credit crunch etc, we are finding it difficult to find a remortgage. Ideally we would like to borrow enough to pay of the IVA (15,000) and credit outstanding (8,000). I am with a debt management company to try and get this paid off, but it will take min. 5 years! We currently owe aprox 110,000 on the mortgage, house valued at around 140,000. Can anybody recommend or suggest anyone who we could approach for remortgage? I will be returning to work in March after 6 months maternity leave, to full time employment, income 23,000 and partner in full time employment with income of 21,000.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
