If your in the London area, your broadband and voice services should both go live on the same date

Cool [H] Signed up for Talk Talk - How long will it take?

    Hello All,

This is my first post, but I have been a regular reader of the forum. I thought I would send a post to prepare myself for my TT experience.

I've moved into a new property and have just signed up for Talk Talk's - Talk 2 International package (with free broadband). A friend has been using the service for a while with no dramas, with the exception of poor customer service.

I live close to Central London (about 1km from the nearest LLU enabled exchange). Previous tenants had a BT land line connection.

For people who live in Central London, please provide some responses to the below questions:

-- How long from sign on did you have your phone line activated?

-- How long from sign on did you have your broadband activated?

-- How far are you away from your exchange?

-- What connection speed do you get? How much does this differ from what TT initially told you?

-- As I understand p2p is restricted. Has anyone had success using p2p using traffic shaping method (ie avoiding TT restrictions)?

-- How is the overall broadband performance? For e-mails, web, connection drop outs?

Here are my dates (so far):

15/08/07 - Completed On Line Application Form / Received E-Mail Confirmation

09/09/07 - Proposed Service Go Live Date

Thanks for your help. Fingers crossed I will be back online in early September!

I have read a lot of bad reviews, so please don't post them here. I am really only interested in the set up processing time, and the level of Internet I can expect to have (in the Central London area). I would also like to hear some good stories (if any exist)!
