I posted a similar request a few weeks back and did not get any recommendations as it seems that most of the postings on here are about loans etc...

Anyway I did my own research and came to the conclusion that I will be investing this sum over 6 months into 4 different instant savings accounts, average AER 6%. £35k sums just to be on the safe side.

The best place to research this is on moneysavingexpert as they have an interesting post ref the links between UK financial institutions and guarantees etc..

I'm moving house in just over 6 months and before organising a new mortgage would like to put the equity (approx 150K) into a savings account. Looking for advice on the best sort of account to go for. The investment term will be for only 6 months.
