Actually, I have a cousin who (almost) does that! She keeps all her old Christmas cards and then cuts out the pictures from the front and uses them as name tags on the following year's presents.
Good on her, I say - reduce, reuse, recycle.

Here's a wizard wheeze. Always keep all your Christmas cards, including the one from YBS, and envelopes and buy some very cheap tippex in bulk and recycle them to friends and family. Start delivering now all the ones close enough to do by hand and send the rest 2nd class and where people live near to each other send them in batches asking them to deliver the contiguous ones. Remember not to recycle a card to the person who sent it you!
