    Shop around is only answer

I don't normally spend any time in these forums, but recent involvement with this comparison site, forced me to become an active participant.

Having always driven 'big cars' I enjoyed the maximum NCB for many years, and always....for whatever reason kept to the same insurer, feeling that they would give me the best of service and prices for renewal.

Tending to ignore quotes that were quite close to the one provided by my normal insurer, I blindly went along...that is until my old Rover Sterling gave up the ghost....

I wasn't really on the look out for anything in particular, when this Mondeo Ghia X came on the scene.

With its V6 engine and Auto Box, I was confident that I would get a good quote from my normal insurer, but was shock ed to receive a quote for £444.00, which I felt was way too high, so I logged-into several sites to check to see what else was out there, and found MoneySupermarket.com.

After completing the questionnaire, I was shocked to see a whole range of prices, with all the facilities I needed....for a lot less than my current insurer, even quotes from them that were cheaper.

Suffice to say that upon checking, and re-checking that what I was being offered was what I needed....I settled for a fully comprehensive policy for £209.00...that's right, £209.00.

I saved £235.00 by using this comparison service, and you better believe it.....I am delighted...!

I will never again accept that by being a good customer, I will get a preferential price for goods and services, made me more aware of the bigger picture....which can't be a bad thing...!

    Good afternoon fourbytwo,

Yep thats the power of the internet and comparison sites!

I always, like you double check, the figures quoted and since this 'credit crunch' have become more savvy on the deals out there from anything from shopping to insurance.

Yes some say that you don't get absolutely every insurer, deal etc on the comparison sites but if you spend a little time going through the other websites you certainly can make a saving as long as you, like me, doublecheck everything. Well done on the saving!

    Regards,

    Paul
