Just switched from Scottish Power and had a phone call from them threatning to fine me £51 if I don't switch back to them. Earlier in the year they were advertising lowest prices but as soon as loads of people signed up, up went their prices. Had two e-mails from them during the "cooling off" period saying they were sorry to lose me, neither mentioned fining me for leaving. Now they're trying to persuade me to pay a fine for leaving my new supplier if that leaves me better off overall. Is this ethical behavior? It's complicated enough having to change suppliers for everything every year just to make ends meet. Of course never offered me a better tariff while I was with them which seems to have magically become available now. Complicated pricing structures, changing prices and I'm paying for the Government's unrealistic green energy targets through my bills. It's not as easy as some would like to make out with the complicated pricing, changes in prices and terms and conditions and older people pay even more.
