You could usefully forget the Littlewoods debt and use the £90 somewhere more useful.

Ask Littlewoods for a copy of your credit agreement. It's almost certain they don't have one. You can then tell them that without a credit agreement you have no liability to repay them. I know - I've done it! (In fact they now owe me £500 - but that's a slightly longer tale).

If I were in your position I would take enforcement action and get enforcement officers to pay them a visit. The only problem with this is that as they are not court balliffs I understand, they have no rights to confiscate goods in lieu of payment. Littlewoods security people, will probably tell them to get lost. It is shame you can't go to their office and take your pick of their office equipment. You can just imagine their faces as you went around with your clipboard valuing items. Lazer printer £30, PC £30, manager chair £20 etc etc. You could hire a large van !!!

If only. £500 in theory. !!!!

definately as a first point of contact download conmankillers or tartan armys debt letter. this will start the ball rolling. you cannot be 100% sure it will work but i normally does.

income and expense lists are easy to do just be honest and see what you can realistically afford.

Please, please use the debt letters on this website and write to Lloyds. Do an individual letter for each outstanding account. Tell them you cannot afford the repayments and to freeze the interest and charges. This does work, I have used this with Abbey National and Halifax. You have to be persistent. Also, go to citizens advice bureau (book an appointment). They are really helpful, and it really surprised me how much more notice the banks take when you have them involved and writing on your behalf. Do a proper income and expenditure list and make sure you allow for everything, the debt guide from CAB lists everything you are allowed, and the amounts thought responsible for groceries, laundry etc

The best advice I can give you is to seek professional debt advice from one the companies below. They will take some details from you and guide you as to the best way forward. There is a new arrangement ( debt relief order) you may be able to apply for which would effectively freeze your debts for a year, during which time the companies would not be able to contact you. Atleast this would give you a chance to try to get some money together or look at any changes you can make to put you in a better position. Your debts must be below £15k to apply, so you could take advice about whether you should pay off some debts to bring below the £15k. See http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/life/debt/debt_relief_orders.htm

You can find out more if you speak to a debt advisor. Citizens advice may be best but you would have to call them to see when you could see the debt advisor. There are lot of people seeking advice so there may be a delay in getting an appointment. Find you local branch using. http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/

Other free debt advice can be obtained from.

http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/ . There helpline is available on Saturdays until 1pm.

    http://www.cccs.co.uk/

    http://www.payplan.com/

The benefit of using one of the advisory companies is that they can recommend the best course of action and help you with letters to the companies you owe money to. If they think the best option is to make offers of affordable payment plans to each company, they will help you with the offer letters. The companies concerned will take much more notice of letters from debt advisory companies, than they would letters from yourself.

    Hope this helps.

Severe Debt and I dont know what to do. Please help.

    Hi

Ok this is my first time on here. Im hoping someone can tell me what to do or at least where to start.

I have debt with Lloyds. A loan, credit card and overdraft. Also a debt with Littlewoods.

I owe just over £10,000 on my Lloyds Loan. £72 on Lloyds Credit card and £5500 on My overdraft.

My loan hasnt been paid for over 9 months, but for some reason im only £97 in arrears. I dont have payment protection and cant afford the £350 monthly repayments anymore. I have called them but they have told me there is no option but to repay the required monthly repayments.

My overdraft is actually for £5000 but Ive beenpaying off £200 some months, but what with daily fees, its never going down. Ive received a letter from Lloyds which is an enforcement notice. It states I have to pay £528 by the 5th October plus daily interest. If I dont it will be passed to solicitors who will reclaim through the courts. Also I have rang up for a settlement on this, which they have told me is not available and that it has already gone to solicitors. Even though it stated it would be passed over after the 5th.

My Lloyds credit card is £70 but I have never received a statement for this. I transfer what I was told was the full balance to a different card 12 months ago. I have never received a statement, first thing i knew of this was when I received a phone call at the beginning of the weekand suddenly i have received a statement today in the post stateing i owe £72.

I owe Littlewoods just over a £1000, I do not ever remember signing a credit agreement with them but they has offered me a £90 monthly repayment with 0%interest. Which I have accepted.

I have just over £3000 that family members will let me have. I would ideally like to get the debt with lloyds settled with a settlement figure. but I dont know how to go about it.

I lost my job at the end of last year and I was on £30+ a year and unfortunetely have been left in debt by an x. - Lesson learnt there! Now I am on a basic of £12,000 plus comms. I work nearly 6 days a week 60 hour weeks and my rent is £400 a month and a car is essential with my job.

Please help my Im really struggling to know what to do. I have next week off work and am keen to do anything i can to sort this out.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You
