Re: serious problem with mist on windscreen

    thanks :-)

will try the wiping it before de-misting next time and will see if the condensation is worse in the mornings as so far I have only had the problem at night,

got one of those KA's with a full length sunroof so that may be where the water is getting in if it is, great fun trying to find the needle in the haystack if that's the case!

    anyway, thanks for your help

Hi...if you have heavy condensation on the screen that that ususally means that there is water getting into the car and condensing on the windscreen by the morning. This type of condensation needs to be wiped cear before attempting to demist. If your problem is that the heater is not blowing warm air, then there is a common fault with an inline valve in the heating systam that seizes in the cold position. Costs around 40 quid and takes 30 minutes to change. You may also check that the directional ducts are set for the windscreen and the control knobs are actually working.

Hi, I have a Ford Ka and am having this problem and your post is the only one that refers to it anywhere!

I only got my car a few months ago and it is 6years old and am dreading spending winter trying to drive anywhere without being to see through the windscreen!

I try everything to de-mist it- the air conditioning, the fans on their own- everything- i wipe it etc but nothing helps!

I would be really grateful of you can tell me how it can be fixed?

    Thankyou :-)

completefinance:Well spotted my little dumpling, well no one is perfect :-) Let's hope you and Shaz never have a puncture and every one just goes past shouting you need to get that fixed through the window. :-0

CF thank you for calling me little dumpling quite made my day, not been called that for a verrrrrrrry long time. Actually was ignored on the roadside with a flat tyre, on a Saturday morning whilst 7 months pregnant!

But don't go worry your purty little head over it, managed to change it even with the bump.

In fact just to show what a smart ar*e i am, when we went to pick up my new car the salesman left us to look it over and was amazed when he found me with my head in the boot searching out the spare tyre jack etc. Said in 20 years of car sales he never had a woman do that before. Don't think he was been sarcastic looked genuinely shocked. My logic is that you never know where you might be with a flat. Only been stumped once in 24 years of driving and couldn't get the post garage visit bolts undone. Usually me who changes blokes tyres they don't want to get their delicate hands dirty!

Also your right no one is perfect...thank goodness it just shows that you're human like the rest of us

Re: serious problem with mist on windscreen

Whats a windscreen?  Im still trying to transition from a grass hut, and all these new inventions are frying my brain - tis one of only two parts of me that are hot. I've probably never heard heavy breathing cos my ears have always been squeezed shut, so I do definitely, positively, absolutely, have no idea what you are talking about.  Care to fill me in? (or should that be the other way round - verse-vice-a?)

ps, this is so not on topic!

Bleeding hell WildHaggis - don't they have windscreens in Scotland?!

    WildHaggis:

And. I'm married -still to wife no 1, with no real plans to upgrade. so, I have absolutely no idea about heavy breeeeeving.

Soooooo, you're making the connection with heavy breathing and relationships huh, me thinks you know exactly what I'm talking about!   ;o)

    Indie,

I live in Scotland (although my blood is too thin for here - I'm from Botswana).  I'm not even sure what a windscreen is, let alone know what a chord is - something to do with firewood, I suppose.  the Moody Blues lost one, I recall.

I have no idea if the tune is James Taylor, or Charlie Watts.  google didnt help me either... And. I'm married -still to wife no 1, with no real plans to upgrade. so, I have absolutely no idea about heavy breeeeeving.

    Clueless

    Hi Indi,

And there's me thinking that since the invention of the spin cycle and the sperm bank us men were redundant??????

    Ian

    LOL, Good point Ian.

You are redundant with the 'odd' exception.  In this case it's because we don't like to get our hands dirty or ruin our fingernails!

WildHaggis: Indispensible : I thought that the mist problem was caused by heavy breathing???

Heavy breathing mists up the windscreen - fact!  Don't tell me you didn't know that WildHaggis.  LOL.  Doesn't it strike a chord?   "Well it was long ago and it was far away and it was so much better than it is today." ...  Name that tune ;o)

That NEVER happens with women Ian.

There's always some willing, helpful male (such as yourself) willing to assist us females!   lol

eager2know - allow me to offer help with your problem with mist on your windscreen from a 'female' perspective...... are you by any chance a heavy breather?   ;o)
