I would guess that most lump sum savings accounts will not reject people with bad credit. What problems have you had when trying to open savings accounts?

Some of ther building societies do not perform credit checks, only electoral role checks. This is due to the accounts being classed as savings accounts, as aposed to current accounts (where you can opt for credit facilities.)

It's my understanding that ALL banks perform credit checks.

Try the Coop instant access account - you can open it online and they do an electronic check to verify your address and ID.

Sometimes credit checks are used for verification purposes. The next screen might ask you 2 or 3 random things from your credit file.
