savings account for a humanitarian aid worker

    Hi

I am currently working for a british non government aid organisation in Democratic Republic of Congo. I am in the UK less than 90 days a year and am currently filling in various forms to get tax exemption. I have an account in the UK, get paid monthly into my account and am currently trying to figure out where I can put my money for savings (about 10k) - what are my options as an officially 'non resident', every website I have looked at says I have to be a resident in the UK.

    Any advice gratefully received

    shellers:

Have you considered an offshore account? See the information on this is money link

Your current bank may have an offshore dept that can assist you transfer, but obviously shop around without taking too much of a risk.
