    ripped off by carphone warehouse

    hi there

any1 else gettin ripped off by cpw out there? i have an 18 month contract with them which is due to end in august i think and just i cannot wait. originally when i set up the contract they was supposed to beat my monthly pay as ya go target of £50 a month. however the bills have been coming in as £70 a month sometimes £100. i have been rationing my phone calls but still get a huge bill.( i get 600 mins & 500 texts, no way i use all that)

any1 else in the same situation?

and also i am currently with gregory pennington and have just set up a debt mangement programme, could i stop paying my bill then pass it on to the debt management programme and if so could i change my phone to pay as ya go and swap my tel number so i can keep it if i stay on the same service provider (O2)

    THX IN ADVANCE

Hi Chantele, theres plenty of people on here who are gettng ripped off by CPW in many different ways, it's just a case of playing the game with them and persisting until you get justice in the majority of cases. Yours however, is something different. I cant help with the debt management at all but I have a few qustions about your current contract problems:

Your last contract was £50 a month and you looked to obviously reduce the price in your current contract or increase your allowances for the same price. I dont understand how your bills have increased so much - what is your basic cost i.e £50 a month? If you aren't using up your call time or text allowance, what are you being charged for? It should state on your bill clearly what is costing you money outside your plan - is it premium/0845 calls, international communcations or internet roaming? Have a look as it may be something more serious.

If I remember right, there was a fault in a Nokia moile (I think - it's on another thread here) which caused the internet to connect during the night, thus incurring costs to the owner. You may be entitled to complain and seek compensation form them if you phone is acting faulty or their billing is wrong.
