    Re: ripp off

    Hi Darlindee,

Unfortunately for you, you have signed the original contract and the terms and conditions state that the contract will roll-on if you don't cancel. You confirm that you didn't cancel when written to, so you are locked in for another year. You will need to write and cancel ahead of the date next year and find another supplier before the deadline to avoid being locked-in again.

    Cheers AmIcrazy

    darlindee,

    This is a tricky one.

The only thing i could advise to do it to contact Scottish Power on 0845 270 3010. If you have already done this but don't seem to be getting anywhere then I would take the advise already offered to you in this forum post.

Whatever the outcome, it would be great to hear back from you.

    Good luck!

    Hi darlindee,
Have you tried Energywatch, I have been intouch with them many times, they offer very good advice, when you have not signed any documents, like you I would have thought it would be void. I have been in this situation with contacts many times, and Companies seem to get away with just talking to a customer, over the phone, you dont even have to sign any paper-work, and this is classed as a verbal agreement. I cannot believe, they can get away with this. When I tried to move over to Scottish power last year, I could not believe they wanted 70.00 for admin charges, I told them that I did not know anything about there Company, and that I thought they had a cheek asking customers for money. I hope you get sorted out.

can you tell me how to get out of a 'roll-on' contract with scottish power. as a small business i deparately need to move my supply. i am paying over £1000 pm. my agreed contract expired june, however they are saying that as i didnt write to cancel it now stands untill june of next year,, surely this isnt legal, no documents have been signed
